Spanish movie star Penelope Cruz wowed spectators last week (begs11MAR07) when she landed in Santiago, Chile for an exclusive meeting with Chilean President MICHELLE BACHELET.

The VOLVER actress was given a warm welcome in the South American country by government dignitaries before expressing her excitement about an upcoming project with director WOODY ALLEN.

Cruz, who begins shooting the as-yet titled film this summer in Barcelona, said: "It makes me feel like jumping for joy."
