Just a couple of days out of rehab and Britney Spears is back in the hospital again. Reports are circulating in the press that the pop princess, who recently completed a stint at the Promises rehab facility in Malibu, was seen entering an L.A. hospital on Sunday.
According to TMZ, the "Toxic" singer was admitted to the Century City Medical Plaza on Sunday for a toothache. Since Britney Spears checked out of the Promises rehab facility last week, she's been shadowed by the media and when the story was initially reported, the headlines read, "Britney Hospitalized", raising speculation that she had suffered a relapse. Quickly putting the rumors to rest, Britney Spears representative, Larry Rudolph, released a statement saying, "Reports Britney was hospitalized are all wrong. She just went to the dentist. She had a toothache. I have no more details."
TMZ also received news from a source who revealed that even though Britney Spears appeared fine when she arrived at the Century City Medical Plaza and smiled for photographers, the singer was in a great deal of pain. "She was smiling for the cameras, but the moment she got into the elevators she was complaining to her bodyguards that it was unfair her tooth was broken, and she couldn't take painkillers."
Access Hollywood dishes that the initial reports of Britney Spears' hospitalization led some gossip Web sites to report that a bodyguard had taken Spears to an ER at Century City Doctor's Hospital. It was later reported that due to the building layout, Britney Spears had simply taken a wrong turn and wound up at the ER. A source close to Britney revealed to Access Hollywood that the false reports gave the Spears family a scare, though she was simply visiting dentist-to-the-stars, Dr. Billy Dorfman, to fix a bad tooth. Larry Rudolph tells Access Hollywood, "This is getting so ridiculous. Every time she sneezes it's front page news. Everyone needs to just leave her alone right now and give her some space."
Access Hollywood also found another detail of the earlier stories to be untrue, as they reported that the police were forced to swarm the area for crowd control due to a host of paparazzi visiting the hospital. AH found no such crowd at the scene.
Britney Spears was also seen over the weekend attending an advanced hip-hop dance class at the Millennium Dance Complex and dining out with three girlfriends at Sushi House Unico in Bel Air on Friday. On Saturday, Britney had her nails done at Epitome Salon and ended the weekend attending services at the Bel Air Presbyterian Church and having lunch at the Barefoot Café.
In related news, while Britney was enjoying her freedom in Los Angeles her ex-husband, Kevin Federline was in Las Vegas celebrating his 29th birthday at the Pure nightclub at Caesar's Palace. Kevin reportedly partied with his father, mother, brother, and ex-girlfriend, Shar Jackson. Britney and Kevin's two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James were also in Las Vegas at the time, but stayed in the hotel room and didn't join in the festivities. Kevin was also presented with a cake by The Pussycat Dolls.
